Tennis Facilities
The professional tennis facilities, nicely-located among the trees, consist of 6 excellent red clay courts (with floodlights for an extra charge).
Modern tennis centre with tennis shop, small bar, toilets and terrace and great panoramic view.
The courts are open and playable year-round. Hone your tennis skills with pleasant temperatures even in winter.
Location
This first, very luxurious resort of the legendary Rocco Forte Collection is located on a 230-hectare site on the south coast of Sicily, surrounded by citrus and olive groves and with wonderful panoramic views.
The town of Sciacca, with its typically Italian narrow streets, shops, bars and restaurants, is about 10 minutes’ drive away. Experience the still-unspoilt Sicilian way of life in Sciacca. The important ancient sites of Agrigento and Selinunt are 30-45 minutes to the east.
Within the resort are two 18-hole and one 9-hole golf courses.
The hotel has its own beach with fine sand.
Destination airport: Palermo is about one hour 20 mins away; Trapani is reached in 1.5 hours and Catania in 2.5 hours.
Resort Facilities
The cubically-shaped hotel building with its straight-line architecture was built using natural materials like stone, wood, sand and sugarcane, and fits in well with the raw and enchanting Sicilian landscape. Mosaics, artefacts and ceramic objects emphasise its Mediterranean style and enable a special feeling of wellbeing.
Huge 60m long outdoor pool with separate children’s pool and sun terrace. Open-air amphitheatre. Diverse high-end and sport boutiques.
Main restaurant “Buon Giorno” with separate children’s buffet, the a-la-carte restaurant “La Zagara” with sea views, bar with terrace, trattoria “Liola”, ice-cream cafe, clubhouse restaurant and bar.
Rooms (203): Situated in two building complexes – “Courtyard” (central, near the reception and restaurants) and “Landscape” (near the sea). All are generously sized, in warm earthy colours, created with natural materials and fabrics. All rooms are modern and luxuriously equipped.
Deluxe Room (approx 45sqm): Located on the first floor, with king-sized bed, bath, separate shower, hairdryer, bath robe, satellite TV, Internet access, CD/DVD player, writing desk, air conditioning, minibar, safe, beach bag, balcony with sea view.
Superior Deluxe (approx 40sqm): Same fittings as for Deluxe Room, located in the “Landscape” villas.
Junior Suite (approx 60sqm): same fittings as the Superior Deluxe, but larger.
Ambassador Suite (approx 170sqm) and Presidential Suite (approx 175sqm with private pool and open-air whirlpool).
Sports and Entertainment
The Verdura Resort offers a wide range of sport and entertainment activities.
All guests have complimentary use of bicycles and buggy service. Various jogging paths. Perfectly-equipped fitness centre. Regular shows, live bands and cinema presentations.
Grass football pitch with weekly matches for guests.
For a fee: mountain bikes, horse riding, cookery courses, private flights, water sports with wind and kite surfing, sailing, yoga courses. Locally-provided activities: diving school and boat trips (also for fishing).
Professional golf academy on 2x 18-hole and one 9-hole courses. Excellently-equipped pro shop.
Verdura Spa (approx 4000sqm): one of the biggest and most modern spa centres in Europe with 11 villas for indoor and outdoor treatments, 25m indoor pool, various thermal baths, Turkish bath, sauna and spa showers.
Children’s club for 4-12 year-olds with its own pool, day-care by trained children’s animators and a large activity programme. If wished, children’s meals can be provided.
